Wishbone Ash combines the release of their New album "Blue Horizon" with a full performance of their classic 1972 album "Argus" @ Rhythm & Brews Monday April 21st. General admission advance tickets $20.

The British Rock act Wishbone Ash's founding member & lead guitarist Andy Powell is perhaps the most iconic guitar player of the Gibson Flying V in that incredibly powerful instrument's long history. The burnt Wishbone graphic on the cover of the band's highly potent first album will forever be a symbol of this historic Gibson guitar in the minds of music lovers who were collecting their albums like black gold along with records from the formative era of the Who, Apple era Beatles, Pink Floyd and Early Led Zeppelin. Wishbone Ash was an arena rock act at the peak of the British Invasion of the early 1970's Occupying a top spot in Britain between the era's of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and remaining immensely popular well beyond. Their first 6 albums were (and still are) staples in the collections of any rabid music aficionado who was basking in that euphoric and incredibly fertile music scene and were part of the foundation of that musical epoch's style & sound. Wishbone Ash's trademarks are virtuoso musicianship and inspirational songwriting and vocal harmony combined with the most unique dual lead guitar style in history.

"Wishbone Ash has since those times remained one of, if not my all time favorite guitar and vocal rock acts." ~Robin Merritt

On this rare occasion Rhythm & Brews in conjunction with ArtFRONT Presentations brings this classic rock act to Chattanooga for the first time on Monday April 21st. This show will give old fans and new music discoverers a chance to see the virtuosity that made the classic rock era what it was. And far from just a lot of speedy guitar shredding the Wishbone Ash songs have lived in the psyches of their fans for decades. At this moment I'm listening to an advance release of their brand New album "Blue Horizon" their 27th studio release, and after some apprehension from being an original fan from the band's beginning I can say that this is truly a recognizable Wishbone ash album with all the flash. All the guitar and vocal harmonies are there, along with a very polished expertise and confidence that only comes about from 40 years of focused dedication and creativity. You can listen to a special advance streaming demo of the Blue Horizon album HERE. This is truly going to be a special event. ~R.

Andy Powell named "among the top 20 Guitarists Of All Time" (Rolling Stone)

"The British music magazine Melody Maker awarded ARGUS the accolade of "The Best British Album Of The Year" in 1972.

Formed in 1969 Wishbone Ash was one of the earliest projects of manager Miles Copeland who later founded I.R.S .records and managed his brother Stewart Copeland's fledgling band "The Police."

A full length article on the history of Wishbone Ash right up to the present lineup by Robin Merritt will be posted on www.ArtFRONT.com prior to this show along with links to several selected live videos. (Check back for it soon as it is in first draft as of Mar. 25th. )
