CD
“Peripheral Love”
Appearing @ Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave. Chattanooga
Friday May. 27th, 8pm with Jonathan Tryezz Fowlkes (pronounced Trezz)
This debut collection from Chattanooga songwriter & performer Jamal Traub with major contributions from Ross Carlson of Red Crow studios in Chattanooga, is a unique artifact and deserves a spot in many music afficianado’s collections. It is a slow, intricate, very laid back collection of songs, very cohesive in style. There are many very nice moments for easy and calm listening but most numbers may pose difficulties for a fast paced radio play environment. I have picked a few songs which will work best as one-off radio spins. It is a very chilled out, light spirited album with both depth & humor and some sad stuff that still seems overall uplifting.

Potential Radio play list:
Tracks #
#3 The Fall, the most likely radio song so far on the album.. (Definitely above the first 2, #1 has a long cricket intro and #2 is nice but VERY slow.
#4. Last Dream is slow but has some nice mandolin on it.
#5. Beautiful Blur is very pretty and soothing it IS very slow but has some electronic breakouts, kind of psychedelic like “Meddle” era Pink Floyd and will work in some instances for radio. (It’s my favorite track so far)
#6. Ladybug Not my personal favorite song on the album but it’s pacing is one of the more radio ready tunes on the album.
#9. My Bird probably one of the most endearing and well thought out songs on the album. Definitely put this one on the play list.
