Jennifer Brantley
With the help of
guitar player David Hand, Jennifer showcases pure song writing excellence with
flawless performance. Her haunting vocals, and hook laden chord progressions
reflect the substance, meaning and mission that music lovers crave. Song craft
is the key ingredient. Her lyrics and vocal melodies twist and turn, bringing
to mind that lost soothing warmth that can be heard in voices like Patsy Cline
and Emmy Lou Harris. Jennifer's career is not lacking in milestones and
achievements. She has sold over 5,000 tapes and CDs, at performances. She has
received radio play from independent stations throughout the U. S.
and has played in front of
crowds of over 4,000 in venues in California and the south. Her performances
include the Thunderbird Theatre in Branson, MO, the Talladega Super Motor
Speedway and Nashville's Wild Horse Saloon.
Since moving to
Nashville in 2001, Jennifer has quickly gained the respect of the Music City's
performing community. In November of 2002, she was asked to be a member of
"Folks Wagon Beatles," an Americana version of the Grand Ole Opry
that features some of Nashville's Hottest new talent, as well as some
established veteran players. Her dead on vocal pitch and sweet harmonies have
also made her a highly sought after back up vocalist.
Jennifer began her performances playing gospel. The
church was a big influence on her early songwriting as well. She played with
her sisters in churches and various venues opening for acts like "David
and the Giants."
"Growing up in Mississippi and California you get
exposed to quite a lot musically and culturally." Jennifer's influences
are as long as her travel logs. She was raised on classical, jazz, &
gospel. Later she was exposed to the sounds of the Beatles and Carol King and
the Byrds. Gram Parsons, Hank Williams, Robert Johnson even the influences of
Radiohead can be heard in Jennifer's music.

"Now is the time to get out and see Jennifer Brantley's excellent
new band while they can still be seen in smaller more intimate venues. This group is just as good as several other
top female performers whom I have seen sell out large performance halls lately,
including Neko Case & Tift Merritt.
Jennifer is currently at work on her second full CD with the producer of Grammy winning CD’s by Allison Krause. Bella
