**NOTE “Caffeine” is no longer a venue.**
I have picked Local Chattanooga indie rockers, The Nim Nims to co-bill the ArtFRONT rock series which is starting this Friday, Feb. 17 @ “Caffeine” 233 M.L.K. Blvd. In Chattanooga, which is directly across from the Bessie Smith Hall and right next door to “The Local.” This show will start around 8:30 pm and will feature Atlanta band “Kill Gordon” who has quickly been gaining a following and playing increasingly larger venues in the Atlanta & Athens GA area. Kill Gordon was also picked by The High Museum of Art to headline their recent college rock showcase. These two bands will be joined by former Chattanooga solo performer “Cody Blaine” who will return from Murfreesboro for this performance Friday night.
The Nim Nims have enough songs recorded to feature on a full length CD and their original recorded music sounds like it was pulled from today's top college radio play lists. Cody Blaine has taken on some darker but highly creative tones since relocating to Murfreesboro and this show will be the first time we get to hear a lot of his new material. “Kill Gordon” has proven to be one of the most energetic and attention-capturing performers I have seen live over the past year. I am expecting big things from Kyle & Kill Gordon’s melodic power pop & highly animated stage show. Lots of past masters of the rock stage come to mind while watching Kill Gordon, including a young Mick Jigger, and Jack white in fast motion. Kill Gordon combines high-energy dance moves and impressive guitar work with his vocals.
I have been listening to the Nim Nims music all week trying to pick the recommended radio songs but that gets to be too limiting sometimes I’ll be looking forward to a lot of Chatanooga’s new music lovers up close for this “in your face” performance Friday night at Chattanooga’s newest live music venue. Caffeine, which has been described as “A fun little Rock n Roll showcase with a coffeehouse vibe.”
