My first listen to the song “Something Happened was enough to send me on a hunt for this local act from Cleveland, TN,   along with reports of an astounding live show at one of the more underground local venues, Café Mi Aroma on McCallie Ave..  I found this sequestered group being very studious after having completed this  very well rounded 8 song full length CD.  “Somethng Happened” seems to have all the best elements of modern  heavy melodic electronic  rock with none of the harshness usually tossed in.  This smooth collection of songs has sophistication seeping out of the record, even when economizing with the synthesizer squiggles which have come back into vogue of late among the indie crowd.

Throughout this record I’m hearing first Sufjan, then Steeley Dan , Iron & Wine, some Pink Floyd and even a bit of Harry Nilsson.

Melodiously rich instrumental passages, interact with soothing vocals, acoustic guitar & heavy bass lines.  Is it Jazz rock? Is it electronica? Is it folk?  Maybe all the above in the way that harkens back to some of the songs on Pink Floyd’s “Meddle.”  I’ll stop the comparisons because this CD is definitely worth listening to from start to finish.   Only one song on the whole disk has in my opinion, a slightly annoying guitar passage. (This is sure to be someone else’s favorite…)  Everything else is top notch.   As far as D.I.Y productions go it sounds way better than a lot of commercial stuff  I’ve heard.  Hopefully this group will continue producing & recording  their skillfully executed  original music and on Oct. 21st we’ll get a chance to hear them live.

ALL tracks on this disk are totally “Radio Safe.”

The overall most impressive being the title song, Track #2 . “Something Happened”  With #1 being designed with the most mass audience appeal  in mind, with tracks #3 , #5  & #8 gaining heavy points for creativity and melodius aesthetics.

Reccomended for radio play
