The Charms

www.myspace.com/charms

playing  Friday Mar. 30th

with Death Valley Driver &  Bialetti

Uncanny Evolution Gallery @ Warehouse Row

1110 Market St. Chattanooga, TN (423) 648-5509

           Last year a high energy Boston rock band called The Charms picked up a gig in Chattanooga opening for The Orange Julians and they totally proved themselves with some of the most guitar scorching, Farfisa organ fueled, rowdy female vocal punk/pop I've heard in this town. That show inspired me to invite them back when I noticed an opening the night after their gig in Atlanta at Smiths Olde Bar. When I contacted the band their management said they were jumping at the chance to come back to Chattanooga.
           Highly anticipated fun times notwithstanding, this band has been making great strides since they last visited. As I type this on Thursday, March 15 The Charms are getting ready to play at San Francisco' s Famed Fillmore West with Ian Hunter & The Zombies. They recently opened up 24 shows for the New York Dolls reunion tour and they have recorded another full length CD "Strange Magic."

Also Playing this show are two  local bands;

"Death Valley Driver
are the quintessential Chattanooga rowdy drunk-and-fun rock band to go see. Hailing from Lafayette, Georgia, band members Vic Burgess, formally of The Orange Julians (lead vocals/guitar.) Matt O'Bryant (lead guitar), Anthony Hixon (bass), and Casey Magnusson (drums) have an undeniable Southern good-naturedness that truly shines through in their music and performance. These guys have been around for awhile and bring intricate and developed yet well-blended musical styling to the table." ~ Jessica Wallin, Enigma Magazine
Death Vallley Driver tunes are posted at www.myspace.com/vicburgessrocks

Bialetti
These up and coming Chattanooga indie pop/rockers open up the show. These guys have gotten airplay on 91.5 WAWL and performed around the region with illustrious local bands such as "Ballroom Dancing." Go listen to their tunes at www.myspace.com/bialetti
