No River City

“The music of No River City wields an uncommon, devastating power. This is an album ripe with emotional dynamics.” Fred Mills, No Depression

“…a wonderful group that through harmonies, slick instrumental and great songwriting skills pull off everything that's right about the new country genre that shuns cowboy hats
and beer guzzling for a roots return to true American folk music.”  Andrew Aber, The Village Voice

The band is getting ready to release a new EP and start touring again in February and March. But let’s backtrack just a little. No River City is no longer the ‘acoustic duo’ the band used to be. In the fall of 2004, Drew de Man and his partner Terri Onstad (the ‘americana duo’ well known for logging many thousands of miles on the tour trail) began working towards recording their next full-length album as a follow-up to the acclaimed 2003 release This Is Our North Dakota. Now a quartet, the line up includes guitarist Eric "Chach" Amata, bassist Chris Poma, and drummer Mark Carbone. The tunes are more upbeat, on the more country side of alt-country.  Several appearances in Atlanta, Savannah and Macon have cranked up the enthusiasm for NRC and the band is currently working on two recordings. The EP, tentatively titled Blues for the Good Old New World is due out in February of 2006 and a full-length album, produced by fantastic guitar-slinger Teddy Morgan is already in the works. Keyboardist/vocalist Nathan Green joined the band in August and does a great job on harmonies. The new band puts on a marvelous, energetic show.

This Is Our North Dakota is still available for purchase on PasteMusic.com and Milesofmusic.com. The band’s 7” vinyl single is also available at shows and on the NRC website. Supplies are running low—buy ‘em so we can do a third pressing!
