| Other Info | Chattanooga local musician & songwriter Birmingham native d. Mangione is one musician that a lot more people need to be aware of. With her upcoming move to Seattle that just may happen. On Friday Feb. 27th "d." as her friends know her will host a going away party in the form of a concert featuring some of her favorite musician friends whom she has connected with during her time as a Chattanooga local musician. That show will finish up with a full set of original songs and maybe a few special covers from d. herself as her going away present to all those who've shown her support during her time here.
A 25 year veteran of songwriting and performing d. has one full recorded album under her belt, now out of print titled "In Dog Years I'm Dead." Which if we're lucky copies may re-appear at this concert. d. is also a visual artist and prints of some of her paintings will be available at this show.
If you're not familiar with d's music imagine a slow rocking intensely building stormy blues and almost country soul ballads that will make You wonder why d. has not been a more prominently featured performer of late. Maybe it's her humble nature , but if all the music bursting from the seams is any indicator a lot more people will be noticing soon. This especially LOW admission price is d.'s going away gift to the Chattanooga community so there's no excuse for missing out on this last chance to catch a future legend in action before setting sail for the big west coast scene .
d.Mangione will also be joined onstage by Peggy Douglas Trio, Phoenix & Roberto, The Unstoppable Jemal Traub and Bethany Kidd (of River City Hustlers) with more T.B.A.
