The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts Presents:

THE FISTFUL MOVEMENT

I'm pleased to announce a special pre-listening and performance by Ana Lola Roman, with works by Max Langhurst, Melati, Malay, and Max Abeles. The exhibition is called FISTFUL. I will be performing works inside this beautiful space, alongside many other talented installation and video artists. This is the first in a series of works where we will begin our collective as The Fistful Movement.

PRESS:

"The Fistful Movement will be vital. This is a NYC Based Group of Artists who have dedicated themselves to musical possibilities fed on intercultural battleships between dance, video, and sound installation." Corine Moore, Sept., 7, 2010 ART MONTHLY, UK.

"Ana Lola Roman strikes a representative physical effort atop Max Langhurst's "soft" video works. The primal sounds she produces alongside his visual works demand the audience be "battle ready." Megan Marie Collard, THE NEW YORK ART WORLD (newyorkartworld.com) Sept., 2010

"Is Ana Lola Roman pop? Can we dare say she's Pop Obscura? Well, what we can hear is that Roman clearly has a "take no prisoners" approach to her collaboration with Iowan artist Max Langhurst. He braves treacherous waters under her sounds, on top of them, trying to make since of all her war-like crossover complexities." Giovanni Medichino, ART REVIEW NYC, http://artreview.artopsent.com Sept. 2010
